There are many ways for teens to volunteer in the City of Plano. However, many of these positions have a waiting list of three-to-six months, so teens are encouraged to apply early. - Our Summer waiting list for Plano Libraries, Recreation Centers, and Special Events is now CLOSED, but we do have other opportunities available. Interested teens (13-17 years old) can join the waiting list for 2018. Those who join the 2018 waiting list will receive an auto-response email confirmation and updates as they become available. Fire Department - Explore a career in the Fire Department. This is for boys and girls ages 16-21 years old who may be interested in a career in the Fire Department. Plano Explorer Post 215 is now accepting applications. The Fire Department offers a wide variety of career paths for men and women. Eligibility Requirements: Must be between 16-21 years old Must be enrolled in high school or have a high school diploma Must maintain a “75” grade point average Police Department - Explore a Career in Law Enforcement.
