Plano Teen Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways for teens to volunteer in the City of Plano. However, many of these positions have a waiting list of three-to-six months, so teens are encouraged to apply early. - Our Summer waiting list for Plano Libraries, Recreation Centers, and Special Events is now CLOSED, but we do have other opportunities available. Interested teens (13-17 years old) can join the waiting list for 2018. Those who join the 2018 waiting list will receive an auto-response email confirmation and updates as they become available. Please see below for other volunteer opportunities.

Fire and Police Explorer Programs

Fire Department - Explore a career in the Fire Department. This is for boys and girls ages 16-21 years old who may be interested in a career in the Fire Department. Plano Explorer Post 215 is now accepting applications. The Fire Department offers a wide variety of career paths for men and women. Now is a great time to learn about what these careers are really like. Apply now.

Eligibility Requirements:
Must be between 16-21 years old
Must be enrolled in high school or have a high school diploma
Must maintain a “75” grade point average
Police Department - Explore a Career in Law Enforcement. The Plano Law Enforcement Explorer Program is always seeking new, qualified, members. For general information visit the program website.

Teen Court

Eligibility Requirements:
Minimum age of 14 and graduated the 8th grade
Maximum age of 20
Must be registered in school
Must be passing all classes
Must Pass background check
Must Pass Review Board (Interview)
