By becoming involved in your community you can help the earth, meet new people, and develop new skills and interests.

Programs include gardening, composting, Live Green in Plano training, workshops, reuse center, recycling programs, educational classes, and more! Volunteers also host backyard talks to teach others about living green, write articles, blogs, and research information. Other volunteers tend community gardens, train PISD students on organic recycling, and teach children and adults about water quality and energy conservation.

Park & Creek Cleanups

Live Green in Plano Volunteer Training Program
If you are interested in an educational series about learning to live green you may like to sign for our Live Green in Plano training classes. Live Green in Plano training series includes:
  • Waste diversion / consumerism
  • Water quality / indoor conservation
  • Compost, native plants, irrigation
  • Air quality, energy
  • Green building
  • Getting the word out
Material is presented through City of Plano Environmental Education Coordinators, guest speakers, volunteers, film, tours, demonstrations, and class discussion.
