Crash Reports

Driver's Crash Reports
The Texas Department of Public Safety collects crash reports submitted by law enforcement officers and reports submitted by drivers. Both are available to the public by following the links provided below. These forms can be submitted for a processing fee through the Texas DPS site:
  • Texas Peace Officer's Crash Report
    This report is completed by a law enforcement officer investigating a traffic crash when apparent damage is $1,000 or more, or when the crash resulted in injury or death.
  • Driver's Crash Report (Blue Form)
    This report is completed by a driver involved in a traffic crash when the crash is not investigated by a law enforcement officer and apparent damage is $1,000 or more or when the crash resulted in injury or death.
Get the Report Online
In order to provide a higher level of customer service by expediting the process of obtaining a motor vehicle crash report, the Plano Police Department is providing this online service. This enables citizens and insurance companies to obtain copies of motor vehicle crash reports investigated by the Plano Police Department through the convenience of a user-friendly internet site.

To view or purchase your report you must have a minimum of two of the following required pieces of information:
  • The street name where the crash occurred 
  • The report date
  • The last name of at least one of the drivers
The fee for motor vehicle crash reports provided online or in-person from the Plano Police Department is $6.

Get the Report from the Police Department
The Plano Police Department is located at 909 14th Street and the Records Unit lobby hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to Noon.

The City of Plano's Joint-Use Facility is located at 7501-A Independence Parkway and Records Unit lobby hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Note: If you have been charged a fee but were not able to print out your report after clicking on the link to view the report - this is usually caused by a setting on your computer. If you purchased the report with a credit card and entered your email address, our system automatically emails you a copy of the report to the email address you provided. In either case, please call (972) 941-2077. We will help you get your report or make a refund.
