Officer David Tilley

Meet the Public Information Officer

Officer David Tilley began working for the Plano Police Department in July 1997. During his tenure with the department he has served as a Patrol Officer assigned to the Patrol Service Division and in 2011 was assigned to the Public Information Office. Officer Tilley joined the Plano Police Honor Guard in 2005 and serves as a coordinator for the unit.

Officer Tilley has been awarded numerous awards and commendations including: Rookie of the Year, Meritorious Service, Marksmanship, and Chief’s Unit Award. He has been recognized as Officer of the Quarter by the Plano Chamber of Commerce and holds several certifications issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). He has also earned his Master Police Officer Certification from the State of Texas.

Officer Tilley is also a proud native of Plano, Texas since the early 1960s when his family moved to the area. Growing up, he attended public schools in the Plano Independent School District and is a graduate of the Plano Senior High School.
