LaShon D. Ross is Deputy City Manager with oversight responsibilities for the Library System, the Parks and Recreation Department, and the Human Resources Department, as well as the Office of Risk Management.  She joined the City of Plano as Human Resources Director in March 2001 and served solely in this capacity until she was promoted to Assistant City Manager in February 2009; then promoted to Deputy City Manager for the Community Services Business Center in July 2010. Before coming to Plano, Lashon served as Human Resources Director for the City of Texarkana, Texas for twelve of the thirteen years that she was employed there.  

LaShon is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Plano; holds a Certificate in Mediation Studies; and is a Certified Professional through the International Public Management Association for Human Resources.  She has completed extensive work with the City of Plano in the areas of succession planning, leadership development, and conflict resolution. 

LaShon received her Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Texas A & M – Texarkana, and she is currently completing a Masters of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University.  She maintains civic involvement; has had several articles published; is a frequent presenter at conferences/seminars; and is a member of several professional organizations.
