In 1999 Mark joined the City of Plano as a Budget Analyst, followed by a position as the Assistant to the City Manager and later as the Director of Customer and Utility Services, prior to his current role as Assistant City Manager.  Mark’s responsibilities include the Customer & Utility Services Department, Technology Services Department, Public Information Office and Libraries.

Mark currently serves on various boards including:  The University of North Texas Alumni Association, University of North Texas MPA Alumni, and Senior Executive Institute (SEI) Advisory Board.  He is  also an active member of Urban Management Assistants of North Texas (UMANT), Texas City Management Association (TCMA), and  International City Management Association (ICMA).  Mark is also a graduate of Leadership Plano Class 22, Leadership ICMA Class 2007, MP3 Class 2003.

Mark Israelson earned his undergraduate degree and his Masters Degree from the University of North Texas.
