James R. (Rod) Hogan
earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, in 1974.
He continues management and technical training through attending management-training
seminars sponsored by various professional associations.
Rod began his career in 1975 where he served in several
positions with the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Plano. He transferred
from the Parks and Recreation Department to assume the position of Street/Traffic and
Solid Waste Manager in 1983. He was promoted to Public Works Director in 1984 and held
that position until 1999 when he was promoted to Executive Director of the Public Services
and Operations Business Center.
Rod is active in the following professional
organizations: International City Manager Association, Texas Public Works Association,
Texas City Manager Association, American Water Works Association, National Recreation and
Parks Association, and Texas Municipal League.
He is also involved in the following:
Board Member of the Cities Aggregation Pilot Program.
This board is responsible for marketing electricity contracts for 90 member cities and two
utility districts.
President of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Plano.
