The Plano City Council initiated the “Neighborhood Roundtable” effort in June, 1997. Since that time, City Council has hosted 15 additional neighborhood meetings. Originally, each of the meetings focused on one of 10 areas of the City, boundaries which were drawn according to population. Most recently, in an effort to reach all citizens on an annual basis, the roundtable area boundaries were drawn to follow the 4 City Council District lines.
City Council Neighborhood Roundtable Meetings are held on a quarterly basis and are open to the general public, although the assigned district is focused upon at that particular meeting. At the meetings, citizens have the opportunity to meet and present questions and comments to City Council and staff. Citizens are also informed of current municipal activities and issues occurring in their district and in the City as a whole.
