Large dog area at Jack Carter Dog Park expected to reopen Sept. 1

A project to resolve some drainage issues in the large dog area of Jack Carter Dog Park (2215 Pleasant Valley Drive) is scheduled to be complete by Aug. 18; however, the temporary fencing will need to remain in place as the new grass is established. Sure, waiting for grass to grow sounds pretty lame, but this is necessary in order for us to get the dog park exactly the way it was before the drainage issues began.

Our maintenance staff strives to ensure that the dog park is properly tended to and is safe for users year round. Please do your part and take a moment to review the dog park rules before your next visit to ensure your safety, as well as that of your pets and other users.

We hope to re-open the closed off portion of the park on Sept. 1. Until then, the small dog park and a portion of the large dog park will remain open during the project. We’re also asking our patrons to please pack drinking water for themselves and their large four-legged friends to prevent them from mingling with their smaller counterparts.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued patience as we work to resolve the issue. Stay tuned for more updates!
