Compost Fair | March 3

Master Composter Training

Ever wonder how many pounds of food waste a pound of worms can eat in a day? Is human hair compostable? Should I put apple cores in my compost pile? Don't wonder.

Wander on over to the Live Green in Plano (LGIP) Compost Fair on Saturday, March 3, 10 a.m. - noon and learn what to leave out, and how to mix, moisten and manage your way to successful soil enrichment.

During the event, attendees can rotate through six hands-on learning stations where LGIP Master Composters will educate regarding materials, maintaining the ideal temperature, types of bins and where to purchase them, how compost can be used, composting with worms and Bokashi composting (fermentation composting with microbes).

This is a come-and-go event, so you can spend as much or as little time as you want talking with LGIP Master Composters and learning how to turn yard trimmings and food waste into nutrient rich food for your garden, lawn and landscape beds. Learn more about the Compost Fair or call 972-769-4228.
