The City of Plano diverts 100 percent of its collected yard debris and corrugated cardboard from the landfill. Yard debris is made up of grass clippings, brush, and tree trimmings. Plano residents place these materials in biodegradable bags, which are collected on their designated collection day by Environmental Waste Services crews. This material is processed at the Regional Composting Facility north of McKinney and marketed as Texas Pure Compost, Topdressing, Soil Blend or Wood Mulch.
