If you are making your request for a court date outside your appearance date (fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of offense), you must appear in person and you will be required to post a cash bond in the amount of the fine plus state costs for the violation for which you have been charged. You will NOT be placed on a court docket until a bond has been posted.
If you have an attorney represent you, and your attorney makes an appearance outside your appearance date, your attorney will be required to post a surety bond before being set on an Attorney Pre-Trial Docket.
If no bond has been previously posted, and if either you or your attorney fails to appear for a Pre-Trial Hearing, a Cash Bond will be required to be placed on a court docket again. Consequences if you or your attorney fails to appear on the court date and time:
- If an attorney bond was posted, the attorney will not be permitted to post any additional bonds until this case is satisfied. A cash bond will be required before the case will be docketed again.
- If a cash bond was posted, the bond will be either forfeited to cover the fine and costs, or; the bond will be forfeited, and a capias warrant for your arrest will be issued.
