In addition to offering a variety of recreational activities, the City of Plano has many volunteer opportunities available through the Volunteers In Plano (VIP) City Government program.
The program places volunteers in various City Departments including Parks and Recreation through the VIP Coordinator's office. If you enjoy sharing your creativity, assisting individuals, or would like to provide other volunteer services to the Parks and Recreation Program or other city service departments please email us.

Leisure Buddies

Many individuals and groups are needed to ensure that Therapeutic Recreation programs run smoothly. Take this opportunity to learn more about being a volunteer through a video and informal discussion. Leisure buddies ages 15 and older are welcome. Leisure Buddy workshops are held four times a year and are free. Please check the Leisure catalog for times. Email us for opportunities.
