Accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers The Senior Recreation Center includes:
- A fitness room equipped with treadmills, stationary bicycles, and a multi-station maximus machine
- A billiards room with two standard size pool tables
- A snack bar, run by volunteers, which operates 11am-12:30pm daily
- Bingo, bridge, and various drop in activities are provided daily
- Ballroom dances with live music are held every Tuesday from 7-9:15pm
Classes, Trips and Events
A wide variety of classes, trips, and special events are offered at the Senior Recreation Center year-round. The Leisure catalog lists programs offered four times per year or you may search the Leisure OnLine database within this web site by clicking here. Contact the Wellness Center for transportation information.

OFF-SITE-ACTIVITIES:
Bowling
The “Swinging Seniors” league bowls every Tuesday at 1pm at the Plano Super Bowl on Ave. K. Call the bowling alley at 972-424-5561 for details.
Golf
Plano Senior Men’s Golf Association plays Monday and Thursday at Pecan Hollow Golf Course. For information on fees call Pecan Hollow at 972-941-7600.
OTHER SERVICES AT THE CENTER
Wellness Center for Older Adults is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Health examinations, durable medical equipment, screenings, support groups, and assistance counseling are available. For more information about the Wellness Center call 972-941-7335.

PLANO SENIOR RIDES
This is a transportation program for qualified senior citizens of Plano age 65 and older.
Plano Senior Rides is a taxi voucher program for those age 65 and older that are unable to drive for themselves. Participants request voucher booklets for $ 2.50 co-pay for a book valued at $10. The vouchers may be applied toward taxi fare. You must FIRST be qualified before requesting reimbursement or calling a taxi.
This program is administered by the Wellness Center for Older Adults and funded by Dallas Area Rapid Transist.
HOW DO I QUALIFY?
Complete an application Request this form in person or call 972-941-7335 to have it mailed to you.
Submit the application Return the form by mail or in person to the Wellness Center for Older Adults.
Wait for a call You will be contacted by a staff member from the Wellness Center for a quick assessment and to inform you as to whether you have qualified.
