Chief Gregory W. Rushin

Gregory W. Rushin is the Chief of the Plano Police Department, Plano, Texas. The Plano Police Department is an accredited agency with nearly 600 employees. Chief Rushin has a diverse law enforcement background, with over thirty years of police experience.

Chief Rushin began his career as a Deputy Sheriff in Illinois. He is also a former FBI Agent, who served in the Washington, D.C. area during his tenure. Chief Rushin has a Bachelors Degree in Law Enforcement Administration and a Master of Science Degree in Human Relations and Business.

He also holds a Certificate in Public Management from the University of Texas at Dallas. Chief Rushin is a graduate of the FBI Academy, the FBI National Academy, the Senior Management Institute for Police, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Program.

Chief Rushin is currently the President of the Texas Police Chiefs Association. He previously served as the President of the North Texas Police Chiefs Association and was Chair of the North Texas High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) and the North Texas Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory (NTRCFL).

Chief Rushin is active in his community. He serves on several Boards of Directors and is a Rotary member.
