Plano PD Explorer Post 911

The Plano Police Department is currently recruiting young men and women to join their Law Enforcement Explorer Program.

Law Enforcement Exploring is a part of the Boy Scouts of America's “Learning for Life” Program. It is designed to acquaint young people with the nature and complexity of law enforcement.

If you have a young adult in your family that is interested in exploring a career in law enforcement, this is an excellent opportunity to do so. Please call the Crime Prevention Unit at 972-941-2431 for additional information.

The goals and objectives of the Plano Law Enforcement Explorer program are to:

  • Further the Explorer’s education
  • Encourage participation in a wide variety of community service activities
  • Enhance the Explorer’s preparation for future roles as citizens, community members, leaders and potential future law enforcement officers.

Both male and female young adults are encouraged to join.

To become a member of the Explorer Post #911 you must:

  • Be between the ages of 14 and 20
  • Parental permission required if you are under the age of 17
  • Be enrolled in high school or college and maintain a “C” average in each subject.
  • Pass a thorough background check
  • Pass a structured review board
  • Complete the Basic Explorer Training Program
