The Animal Services Division works very hard at getting lost pets back to their owners. If you are missing a pet, you will need to come into the shelter and look for your pet. If he is not at our shelter, you will need to file a lost report in the Lost and Found Book which is located at the front desk. It is helpful if you bring a photo to place in the book. Please check the Found section of the book to see if a caring citizen has found a pet and offered to take care of it until the owner is located. We do not take lost reports over the telephone.
It must be remembered that any owner redeeming an animal from the shelter will be responsible for the payment of the impoundment fee(s) and may receive citations. While we understand that accidents do happen, owners are responsible for physically restraining their pets at all times within the City limits, providing the animal with required vaccinations against rabies and place both vaccination and city registration tags on the animals collar.
