After 24 consecutive months of service and a good credit rating with the City, our customers are eligible to have their $50 residential water deposit returned (36 months for commercial accounts).
So what does it take to maintain a good credit rating? In order to be considered a "customer in good standing," a residential utility service customer must not have more than the following numbers of action taken against them in the 24-month period of service preceding such consideration or a combination of three offenses; ie. two penalties for late payment and one door hanger for cut off.
| Returned Check | 0 |
| Bank Draft NSF | 0 |
| Broken Promise to Pay | 3 |
| Account in Collections | 0 |
| Delinquent Notice Sent | 3 |
| Door Hanger for Cut Off | 2 |
| Service Cut Off | 0 |
| Penalty for Late Payment | 3 |
| Payment Plan | 0 |
| Previous Account Written Off | 0 |
| Other Debt to City | 0 |
The same criteria applies to commercial utility service customers; however, a commercial customer must not have had any such action taken against them in the 36-month period of service preceding such consideration.
