Plano Citizens Academy
The
Plano Citizens Academy is open to residents of the City of Plano, 18
years of age and older. Sessions are held bi-weekly at various
City/community facilities primarily on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to
10:00 p.m. An optional Saturday bus tour of City facilities may be provided. Mission Statement
The mission of the Plano Citizens Academy is to familiarize citizens
with the function and purpose of City of Plano government and
associated community organizations. Attendees will: Meet the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, City Department Heads and staff; Receive an overview of Plano's history; Learn about the City of Plano's form of government; and Gain an understanding of how each Department supports the Mission of the City.* *City of Plano Mission Statement The mission of the City of Plano is to provide outstanding services and facilities, through cooperative efforts with our citizens, that contribute to the Quality of Life in our community.
The next class is scheduled to begin February 12, 2008. Applications are now being accepted.
