A variety of
potential hazards pose a certain level of risk to the Plano area, some are natural and others are considered man-made or technological. Severe
thunderstorms, hail, lightning, tornadoes, and extreme temperatures are just a few of the hazards that Plano citizens are at
risk.
We’ve provided
information in the navigation menu to the right regarding many of
these hazards to assist you in developing your emergency plans. Emergency plans
should take into consideration the specific hazards that a community faces and
preparedness activities should address the effects of these potential hazards
and the level or risk they pose.
Whether you are
developing plans for your family, home, business or school, the links to the
right will provide you with the information you need to prepare for the worst. For additional
guidance when developing plans specific to your needs visit our Emergency
Preparedness Page or contact us at dhs@plano.gov
