combination have the ability to knock out power for extended periods of time,

• Tornado Watch- Conditions are conducive to the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area. • Tornado Warning- A tornado has actually been sighted by spotters or indicated on radar and is occurring or imminent in the warning area.
• Severe Thunderstorm Watch- Conditions are conducive to the development of severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
• Severe Thunderstorm Warning- A severe thunderstorm has actually been observed by spotters or indicated on radar, and is occurring or imminent in the warning area.
During the storm:
* During heavy lightning; avoid anything metal as electricity can travel through bathtubs, sinks, electrical equipment, etc.
* Never take shelter underneath trees, but do try to get shelter if you are outside as soon as possible.
* Listen to local TV/radio channels for emergency advisories and instructions
* If water has seeped into your home; try and avoid it as it may have hazardous materials in it.
* Always disconnect all electrical appliances during an evacuation

After the storm:
* Take inventory of what is damaged, salvable, and amount of work that needs to be done.
