Points:
- Report any and all suspicious handbags, sacks, or
containers; especially if they are left unattended and report them to the
nearest transit employee immediately.
- Be observant. Take a general mental inventory of
fire extinguishers and exits and read posted safety instructions.
- Always stay calm in an emergency situation. Hear,
listen, and follow instructions given by transit employees or emergency
responders.
- If it is within your ability try and help those
around you; especially those with disabilities and children.
- Exit the train or subway if you are in absolute
immediate danger or instructed to do so by an authority.
- The information you receive from the train/bus
operator is accurate and the best information you can have access to while
on the bust/train due to the fact that they are in constant contact with
control centers.
- Cell phones have the ability to interfere with
emergency personnel equipment; so only use them if absolutely necessary.
