Community

Getting to know your neighbors and establishing relationships with them can be vital during a crisis situation.  A solid community dynamic can solidify and make a neighborhood safer and more prepared in case of an emergency.  An inventory of neighbors’ expertise within the community is a valuable resource in establishing what your community could handle as well as what types of equipment are accessible and available for the community to utilize in an emergency situation.

The City of Plano offers volunteer programs that will assist your community in preparing for emergencies and increasing community knowledge in how to respond after a disaster happens.  The programs offered by Plano also inform citizens how to aid and assist fire, police, and other agencies during crisis and tragedies.
