  • 1st place 2006 National Award for Waste Reduction from Keep America Beautiful for the Government Agency category for special waste programs including: the Household Chemical Collection and Reuse Center program, Electronic Waste Recycling program and paint recycling program.
  • 2006 Excellence in Environmental Awareness Government Awards through the League of Women Voters of Texas Education Fund for long-term commitment, leadership, coalition building, and educational outreach, as well as significant impact on recycling. 
  • 2nd place Keep Texas Beautiful Governor's Community Achievement Award of Excellence in population category. 
  • North Texas Corporate Recycling Association - Environmental Vision Award in Government Category.
