Kids In The Garden

2nd through 4th graders will experience the world through an exciting hands-in-the garden program.  This imaginative curriculum shows children that growing and eating nutritious fruits and vegetables reaps its own rewards.  Participants will complete activities towards a Junior Master Gardener certification.  Additional fee of $25 paid to instructor on first day of class.

Create a beautiful and healthy landscape by learning to put the right plant in the right place. Learn about water-saving practices for the landscape, and how to incorporate design principles emphasizing the use of native and adapted plants.

Be YardWise: Texas-friendly Plants

Choosing Texas-friendly plants and trees well-adapted to our area and weather conditions will make a big difference in the success of your landscape. Enjoy a colorful armchair tour of the best plant, shrub and tree selections for our area. Afterwards, stroll through our teaching garden while we discuss appropriate care.

Master Composter Seminar

Interested in organic gardening?  Limiting your outdoor water use?  This 14-hour intensive workshop focuses on the methods, benefits and uses of compost and vermi-composting, municipal waste reduction through yard trimming diversion, soil management, the seven steps to a Texas SmartScape, native and adpated plants for the North Central Texas region and the use of Integrated Pest Management in residential pest control.
