The Plano Community Garden is a cooperativepartnership between the City of Plano's Sustainability & Environmental Services Department, Junior League of Plano, and the Plano Community Gardeners. The garden's 50 raised beds provide over 1,200 lbs. of fresh produce annually to community food pantries and present hands-on educational opportunities for local schools, children's organizations and organic gardeners.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED – NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Adopt a plot to help feed the hungry or pitch in at one of our monthly workdays. We welcome scout troops, school groups, adult or youth organizations, and service-minded volunteers. Whether you’re a beginner eager to learn basic gardening skills or an experienced gardener anxious to share your knowledge, we have a place for you in our community.
ADOPT A PLOT – HELP FEED THE COMMUNITY

GROW GREEN: All produce grown in the 4’ x 18’ raised beds is organic.
GIVE FOOD: Gardeners are welcome to keep up to 50% of their harvest; the remainder is donated to local food pantries for distribution to their clients. Community harvesting and pantry delivery is on Wednesday afternoons. Gardeners may also deliver harvested produce at their convenience to any of the partner pantries.
MAKE FRIENDS: Because Texas vegetable gardens require sustained care over three seasons, we encourage gardening partners. Plots need to be checked 2-3 times a week in the spring for watering and weeding; almost daily in the summertime. Beginning gardeners can be paired with a garden mentor upon request.
