Inaugural Plano Expo Shows "Green" Lifestyle, Sustainability Easy to Achieve

(PLANO, Texas)—North Texans will be able to test drive new hybrid vehicles, learn how to install their own drip irrigation system and learn more about energy-efficient home construction at an interactive expo this Saturday.

The Live Green in Plano Expo is a free event educating people about how simple it is to live a “green” lifestyle. The expo features various keynote speakers, earth-friendly activities, demonstrations, music and art for the entire family. It takes place Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Plano Centre. Free event includes “do-it-yourself” demonstrations, earth-friendly activities, music and art

WHAT: The Live Green in Plano Expo is a free, family-friendly event teaching North Texans how to live a “green” lifestyle.
• Discover solar energy applications for water heaters, pool heaters, outdoor lighting and cooking
• See wind turbines designed for residential applications
• Find out how to install drip irrigation systems for home landscapes
• Learn about drought-tolerant landscaping options
• Learn how to build a backyard compost pile and install a rain harvesting system
• Understand the benefits of compact fluorescent lighting (CFLs)
• Find out more about energy-efficient windows, doors and wall construction
• Pick up water-conserving shower and faucet heads
• Test drive a new hybrid vehicle
