Renewing Items How do I renew items from Home? To renew items online click here and enter the online Catalog. Click on the Patron Account tab. This will take you to the Login screen. You must enter your library barcode and then the last four digits of your telephone number. Once logged in, you may view items you have out, renew items, view your fines, view your requests, and your saved lists of items. To renew items by telephone you may use the automated TELECIRC system by following these instructions: Dial 972.867.3326. TELECIRC allows you to renew items, review items checked out, review items placed on hold and review charges on returned items. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Returning Items Bring books,  audiocassettes, videos, CDs, and DVDs inside any Plano Public Library (locations) during regular library hours, or place materials in bookdrops located on the west side of each library 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Books returned to Allen Public Library will also be returned to Plano locations because of our reciprocal borrowing agreement. Return Books Only to one of the free-standing bookdrops at the following locations: Park Boulevard and Preston Road - at the southeast quadrant near Tom Thumb (SE corner) 15th Street and Custer Road - near the corner of 15th and Greenway (SW corner) Park Boulevard and Dallas North Tollway - in the Home Depot parking lot (SW corner) Custer & McDermott - in the Kohl's parking log (SW corner) Loan Periods Three weeks - most books including Interlibrary Loans, audiocassettes, puppets, and Identification Engravers Seven days -  special books (holiday, science fair)  that have a 7 day sticker below the call number Seven days - videocassettes and DVDs Overdue Charges What are the overdue charges if I am late returning library materials? Item Fine per Day Maximum fine per item Three weeks, 7 day books $.25 $10.00 Interlibrary Loan $.25 $10.00 Audiocassettes and CDs $.25 $10.00 Videocassettes and DVDs $1.00 $10.00 Identification Engravers & Puppets $.25 $10.00 Lost or Damaged Items All lost or damaged item charges will be calculated at the replacement cost and a $5.00 non-refundable processing fee is added on. For materials not returned or paid for after 35 days and/or uncollected fines in excess of $25.00, payment will be sought by the library's collection agency.
