Friends of the Plano Public Library

Friends of the Plano Public Library was established in 1965 to sponsor programs  designed to add to the cultural life of the community, to encourage gifts, endowments, and memorials for the library, and to provide direct financial assistance by purchasing for the library special and unusual items of goods or services which would be of great benefit but cannot be purchased from the library budget.

The Friends hold an annual book sale with over 100,000 new and gently used books for sale. The next sale will be held July 31 - Augsust 2, 2008, at the Plano Centre, Spring Creek Parkway and Jupiter Rd. Volunteers are needed throughout the year to sort book donations for the sale. Assistance with set-up, the actual sale, and take-down is needed the week of the sale. Please contact Robin Popik at 972.941.7114 if you are interested in volunteering.
The Friends organization is incorporated under Texas state law as a non-profit charitable organization, separate from the Plano city government.
