The mission of the Children's Services Division is to develop, provide, and maintain a diverse selection of materials, informational services, and programs to fulfill the literary needs of all children and adults working with them in the community. To accomplish this mission, we need to ensure that: Every child is provided with free, readily accessible public library service. We foster a love of reading (and good literature) in a receptive, friendly atmosphere, in an endeavor to develop lifelong library users. We plan and implement a variety of programs to promote library use. We collaborate with other community agencies meeting children's needs. We promote the resources and services of the Children's Services Division. We provide professional and support staff dedicated to working with children and young adults.
