You must meet the following six (6) requirements to be eligible to take a Driving Safety Course to dismiss your citation:
- You must have a valid Class C Texas Driver's License; or present proof you are a member, or the spouse or dependent child of a member, of the United States military forces serving on active duty;
- You must have proof of financial responsibility (insurance);
- You cannot have taken a Driving Safety Course within one year preceding the date of the alleged offense for the dismissal of another citation that is not yet reflected on your driving record;
- You cannot have been charged with an offense in a construction zone OR with speeding 25 miles or more over the speed limit;
- You must enter a plea of "guilty" or "no contest";
You must pay the State Costs and Administrative Fee of $112.10 if the offense did not occur in a school zone; $137.10 if the offense did occur in a school zone.
