Overview
“Revisiting Neighborhoods” simply means Community Services Planners re-engage neighborhoods that have previously participated in the 1st Choice Neighborhoods Program (formerly known as Neighborhood Planning). The “revisiting neighborhoods process” began in 2008 with a Revisiting Neighborhoods Workshop. The primary purpose of the revisiting neighborhoods effort is to reconnect with residents to educate, inform, and empower them to sustain their neighborhoods and build cohesive communities.
| During a revisiting project, residents can expect planners to do the following: |
- Work to address issues and concerns discovered during the project meetings
-
Inform residents of upcoming/pending or future projects (if applicable)
-
Include residents in the project decision-making process
-
Help residents strengthen neighborhood cohesion
-
Inform residents of city services and programs that will help strengthen the neighborhood
-
Connect residents with other departments (such as Sustainability, Police, Engineering, & Property Standards) |
