Chief Gregory W. Rushin


                                  
Gregory W. Rushin is the Chief of the Plano Police Department, Plano, Texas.   The Plano Police Department is an accredited agency with 592 employees.  Chief Rushin has a diverse law enforcement background, with over 28 years of police experience.

Chief Rushin began his career in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff in Illinois.  He is also a former FBI Agent, who served in the Washington, D.C. area during his tenure.  Chief Rushin has a Bachelors Degree in Law Enforcement Administration and a Master of Science Degree in Human Relations and Business.

He holds a Certificate in Public Management from the University of Texas at Dallas. Chief Rushin is a graduate of the FBI Academy, the FBI National Academy, the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration’s School of Supervision, the Senior Management Institute for Police, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive  Development Program.

Chief Rushin is active in his community and serves on several Boards of Directors.  He is a member of Rotary and coaches youth sports.  Chief Rushin is Sergeant-at-Arms of the Texas Police Chiefs Association, Chair of the North Texas High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA), served as Chair of the North Texas Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory (NTRCFL), and is a past-president of the North Texas Police Chiefs Association.
