INSURANCE

Life and medical insurance are available to employees, as well as their dependents. Workers Compensation Laws cover City of Plano employees for injuries sustained on the job.

 

 



VACATION

Years of Service Monthly Accrual
1 - 10 Years 10 Hours
11 - 19 Years 12 Hours
20 Years 16 Hours

 

SICK LEAVE

Sick leave is earned at the rate of ten hours per month (fifteen days per year). There is no limit to the number of sick leave hours that may be accumulated.

 

 



RETIREMENT

The City of Plano is a member of the Texas Municipal Retirement System and all Regular employees are enrolled in this system; employees are 100% vested in the retirement system after 5 years. Employees are eligible for retirement at any age with 20 years service or at age 60 with ten years service.

UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT

Uniforms and equipment are provided to the Officer at no cost.

 

NOT INCLUDED IN COMPENSATION PLAN:

60.00 Per Month or 720.00 annually for Intermediate Certificate.

80.00 per month or 960.00 annually for Advanced Certificate.

120.00 per month or 1,440 annually for Master Peace Officer Certificate.
