The City of Plano Police Department is proud to have been accredited by
The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) since 1992. In November 2009, the Department was awarded special distinction as a CALEA Flagship Agency which designated Plano as an extraordinary example of excellence in Law Enforcement. A Meritorious Service award, given to agencies with 15 or more continuous years as an accredited agency, was also presented to the Plano Police Department at that time. The Plano Police Department will host a Civil Service Examination
on June 23, 2012 at the Plano Senior High School, Building #C, 2200 Independence Parkway at 8:00 a.m.

Crime Stoppers encourages members of the community to assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime by overcoming the two key elements that inhibit community involvement: Fear and Apathy
Members of the community can make ANONYMOUS tips and may be eligible for a reward of up to $5000 if the information leads to:
An arrest of a person with an active felony warrant or Information that leads to a felony arrest and indictment.

The Plano Police Department is offering this free service to all City of Plano residents. The program is designed to allow for the rapid identification and safe return of individuals who are unable to adequately communicate vital information to law enforcement officers.

To alert drivers to the dangers of "driver inattention," the Plano Police Department has initiated a campaign called "Pay Attention for Prevention." This campaign includes a series of on-line videos, featuring tips and information to help keep drivers safe.
