Seminars and Presentations

The Plano Police Department Crime Prevention Unit hosts a burglary seminar four times annually at Vines High School. This seminar is advertised and produced in conjunction with Plano Parks and Recreation Department. All citizens of Plano are invited to attend as many key topics are covered concerning the protection of your property. Past burglary victims are especially encouraged to attend.

The seminar usually lasts two hours and covers such subjects as alarms, door and window locks, landscaping, lighting, window covering, garage security, and many other topics. There is also a 30 minute video of convicted burglars who go over what they look for in a house (and what they avoid) prior to burglarizing it. This is one of the more popular programs that the Police Department has.

For more information contact the Crime Prevention Unit at 972.941.2431 or Officer Mark Dawson at 972.941.2146.
