Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award logo



In August of 2008 the City of Plano's Purchasing Division received the 13th Annual "Achievement of Excellence in Procurement" Award.  This award was designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement and is recognized by all major Public Purchasing Professional Organizations nationally and internationally.   The annual award is designed to measure excellence in innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership.  Plano is one of only six organizations in the U.S. to receive this award since its inception.

Outstanding Agency Accreditation Achievement Award logo


The Purchasing Division also has earned The Outstanding Agency Accreditation Achievement Award (OA4) from the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, which recognizes those agencies that lead the public procurement profession.  The Program is designed to be a self-evaluation process based on the NIGP Accreditation Criteria Form.  Agencies meeting the minimum requirements receive an achievement certificate.  Accreditation certification is valid for three years at which time the agency will be required to re-accredit.

Fleet Services has been named one of “100 Best Fleets” by Government Fleet Magazine. “The 100 Best Fleets” award program recognizes and rewards peak performing public sector fleet operations in North America.
