| Punishment consists of a specific number of community service hours. A range of hours for each offense is determined from the grid system, which establishes consistency and is based on the nature of the offense. The Teen Court jury will assess community service hours based on the facts presented. Defendants are given 90 days to complete their sentence. Failure to complete the sentence will result in the case being returned to the Municipal Court. Class 1 12 - 24 hours Criminal Offenses include but are not limited to: Littering Disorderly Conduct - language, offensive gesture, noise Traffic Speeding 1 - 12mph over No Seat Belt Expired Registration Expired Inspection
Class 2 24 - 44 hours Offenses include but are not limited to: Curfew violations Disruption of School Activities Possession of Fireworks Facsimile Firearms Minor in Possession of Alcohol Traffic Speeding 13 - 24mph over Speeding School Zone 1-12mph over No Driver’s License No Insurance (FMFR) Ran Red Light Ran Stop Sign Violate D.L. Restriction
Class 3 44 - 64 hours Offenses include but are not limited to: Theft under $50 Criminal Mischief Disorderly Conduct – Fighting Reckless Damage Trespass on School Grounds Minor in Consumption of Alcohol Traffic Speeding 25+ mph over Speeding (School zone) 13- 24mph over Fail to Leave ID
Class 4 64 - 80 hours Offenses include but are not limited to: Assault Public Intoxication Driving Under the Influence Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Traffic Speeding (School zone) 25+ mph over
