Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation's compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain love for one another. -- Erma Bombeck
How to Decide What Volunteer Opportunity is Right for You
FOR ADULTS
Before making a volunteer commitment, it is important to think about the type of volunteer role that you would enjoy, your skills and the times you are available. When making this assessment, try to identify your own strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, and consider the type of job to which these would best be suited, then review the variety of opportunities available on our website. In addition to posted volunteer opportunities the VIP program receives special requests and positions from departments. Email or call us for an appointment and we can match you using all available opportunities.
FOR TEENS
Before making a volunteer commitment for yourself or your child, it is important to think about the following:
• When are you available to volunteer?
• How many hours do you need?
• Do you prefer an on-going opportunity or an event?
• Do you have reliable transportation?
The VIP program offers various one-time event opportunities as well as great positions that will teach you leadership skills and help you learn more about possible career paths. Email or call us for an appointment.
