Teens love to: • Help solve problems • Feel useful and valued • Make the world a better place for others Therapeutic Recreation Leisure Buddies – 14 years minimum age Help children with special needs in leisure activities. Volunteers will interact with participants in social settings and activities including arts and crafts, games, swimming, bowling, and more. A one time orientation is a must. For more information and orientation dates, email Addy Hjarpe at addyp@plano.gov Teen Jurors Year Round 13-18 years old Learn about our legal system by becoming jury members and attorneys. Jurors help determine community service hours assigned to a teen peer who has pled guilty or no contest to a Class C Misdemeanor offense. Teen Court is held every Monday from 5:30-8:00pm. Orientations for jurors and attorneys are required, plus a minimum of 20 hours per semester. They would have to be available on Monday evenings from 5:00-8:00 twice a month. Summer Camp Volunteers Teens 14+ are needed to assist with summer camp activities Monday through Friday.
