Storm Water Management Health Department |

|
Authorized/Unauthorized Discharges
The City of Plano Health Department monitors the storm drain system in a variety of ways during both dry and wet weather conditions. In this part of the country, storm water systems are separate from wastewater sewer systems, and untreated runoff flows directly to the nearest bodies of water. This means that anything a person may pour into or dispose of in a storm drain inlet, curb, alley or any conveyance system goes directly into a body of water. The City of Plano's permit authorizes certain discharges in accordance with the approved Storm Water Management Program.
