Plano Parks and Recreation Department's Youth Swim Teams

The Plano Aquaducks and the Plano Piranhas are the recreational swim teams of the City of Plano Parks and Recreation Department and are affiliated with the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (www.taaf.com). The Aquaducks and Piranhas swim 5 days a week during the summer and also have options for swimming in the fall, winter and spring.
The Aquaducks practice at the Oak Point Recreation Center and the Piranhas practice at the Tom Muehlenbeck Center. Although we have experienced tremendous growth, we continue to maintain a family-like atmosphere and are committed to helping kids have fun and learn how to become better swimmers.
SUMMER SWIMMING
The teams have the most swimmers during the summer, with registration beginning in March. Throughout the summer there are optional swim meets every Saturday (about 30-45 minutes away), and swimmers have a chance to compete at the TAAF Games of Texas by qualifying at the regional swim meet.
OFF-SEASON SWIMMING
The Aquaducks and Piranhas have recently expanded to swimming in the fall, winter and spring. In the fall we swim and compete in the Winter Games of Texas, and in the winter and spring we offer stroke clinics to help swimmers get their strokes up to par before the summer starts. It’s a great way to keep swimming throughout the year!
COACHES
The coaches love swimming and have a high level of expertise. They want the swimmers to learn to swim better and enjoy the great sport of swimming.
