Adopt A Tree

Adopt A Tree
Adopt A Tree is a joint program between the Plano Parks Foundation and Parks and Recreation Department to provide an opportunity for people who want to memorialize or recognize an individual.

The Adopt A Tree program is located around the pond at Russell Creek Park, off of McDermott Rd between Coit Rd and Custer Rd. For a map of the site, click here.

Participants receive a 30 gallon tree for $345 (approx 2.5 in caliper). Included with the tree is a 4" x 9" bronze plaque with wording the applicant provides. The Parks and Recreation Department will choose the appropriate planting location and species. The tree and plaque will be installed by the Department and receive automatic irrigation. Maintenance will be provided in perpetuity.

Applications are taken year round, but plantings are typically done during winter months when it's best to plan trees. Once the tree is planted, the applicant will receive a notification letter and map showing where the tree is located.
