James Edwards Receives Plano Volunteer of the Month Award
Last night Plano City Council honored James Edwards as the July 2005
Volunteer of the Month during the regular Council Meeting. James has been a
leading advocate of the rehabilitation of the Wyatt North neighborhood. He
has devoted a great deal of personal time and physical effort to ensure the
neighborhood is a better place to live. James was instrumental in starting a
neighborhood association and actively participates in the area Crime Watch
program.
James also participates with the Sunrise Rotary to clean alleys and to paint
houses of people in need. He cleans up the neighborhood during the Great
American Cleanup in April but also throughout the year. His commitment makes
him the “go to” person to get something done for his neighborhood.
Nominations for Council Volunteer of the Month are accepted year-round,
simply go online to www.plano.gov or get
an application at a Plano library, the Collin County Volunteer Center, the
Plano Chamber of Commerce or Plano Municipal Center to nominate a favorite
volunteer.
