POPULAR EUROPEAN TRAVEL WRITER AND AUTHOR RICK STEVES WILL SPEAK IN PLANO
Friends of the Plano Public Library will host a lecture and book signing
with Rick Steves, the leading authority on European vacations and safe
independent travel. The event will be held at The Courtyard Theater on
Tuesday, September 27, at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets will be on sale in advance at all Plano Public Library System (PPLS)
locations beginning Monday, August 15 and are $15.00 per person. Seating is
limited and tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.
Rick Steves is the popular American author of the Europe Through the Back
Door travel guides and hosts the TV program, Travels with Rick Steves, that
regularly airs on over 300 public television stations including PBS and The
Travel Channel. Also a best-selling author, Steves Europe Through the Back
Door is now in its 23rd edition. Additionally he has published 13 country
guidebooks, nine city and regional guides, and six translation phrase books.
His Italy guidebook is the best-selling international guidebook in the U.S.
Steves also pens columns in the media, and is a contributing writer at
ABCNews.com and USA Today.
Following the lecture, Rick Steves will meet and greet individuals and sign
books, which will be available on site for purchase, courtesy of Borders.
The Courtyard Theater is located at 1509 Avenue H in downtown Plano.
