GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST OPEN TO PLANO STUDENTS THROUGH
SEPTEMBER
Plano’s Great American Cleanup (GAC) t-shirt needs a “new
look” for 2006, and who better to help with a new design than Plano students.
The design contest is open to Kindergarten through 5th grade Plano students (public,
private, and home-schooled) throughout the month of September. Entries (one per
child) will be judged on originality, legibility, colorfulness, appropriateness
to the theme, and creativity.
Plano libraries have partnered with Keep Plano Beautiful to provide and collect
entry forms. Boxes with blank entry forms are at Davis, Harrington, Parr, and
Schimelpfenig libraries.
The theme of this year’s contest is: “LITTER IS A MONSTER OF A PROBLEM.” Contest
requirements are listed on the entry forms, and are also available on the KPB
website, www.keepplanobeautiful.org.
The contest winner will have his or her design on the 2006 GAC t- shirts, be
presented a special certificate by the Mayor during a City Council meeting and
be honored during the 2006 GAC Volunteer Appreciation Picnic and the 2006 Plano
Community Awards Banquet.
