Plano Television Network Launches Firefighter Cooking Show
The Plano Television Network (PTN) and the Plano Fire Department have teamed
up to produce “Out Of the Firehouse, Into the Frying Pan,” a firefighter
cooking show.
The show, hosted by Plano Firefighter James Frock, was shot at Plano’s Fire
Station 9. While cooking a Tater Tot Casserole, Frock educates the viewers
on cooking tips, as well as safety tips for in the kitchen. In addition, he
talks about candle safety and the benefits of CPR. These are two topics that
the Plano Fire Department will be focusing on during October’s Fire
Prevention Week.
“Because of Fire Prevention Week, October is a busy month for the Fire
Department,” said Peggy Harrell, Plano’s Education Coordinator. “This is an
excellent way for us to get our message out to Plano viewers, while allowing
PTN to produce a solid show for their lineup.”
“In addition, firefighters are known for being excellent cooks,” Harrell
said. “It gives residents a chance to see the fire station from their living
room and see the firefighters as regular people, while learning about fire
safety. It is a win-win for the Plano Fire Department, Plano Television
Network, as most importantly, Plano residents.”
“This is a fun show that viewers will enjoy watching,” said PTN Producer Ana
Gonzalez. “It is full of safety tips, cooking tips and fun facts. The viewer
will gain useful information while learning to cook an easy recipe.”
“Out Of the Firehouse, Into the Frying Pan” will air throughout October at 3
a.m., 3 p.m., 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
