Douglass Center Hosts Boys’ Teen-Pregnancy Conference
The City of Plano, in coordination with the March of Dimes and Alpha Phi
Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is hosting Project Alpha North 2005 on Saturday,
October 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Douglass Community Center, 1111
Avenue H.
The day-long program is a male-focused, teen-pregnancy conference targeting
12 to 15 year-old boys but is open to young men up to 18 years of age.
The program emphasizes the social, economic and personal consequences that
come with fathering a child. Project Alpha creates a safe environment where
young men can learn and explore important life issues.
The conference is free. To register, call the Douglass Community Center at
(972) 941-7174. Registration along with a consent form must be received no
later than Saturday, October 8, 2005. Consent forms are available at the
Douglass Community Center.
