Plano Recognized as Best Place for Commuters
On October 20, the City of Plano was recognized by the North Texas Clean Air
Coalition as one of the "2005 Best Workplaces for Commuters." The award was
presented to recognize employers who actively participate and promote clean
air initiatives in the North Texas area. Environmental Health Specialist
Janet Tucker and Traffic Engineering Manager Lloyd Neal submitted for the
award, which was presented during an awards luncheon in Dallas.
“The City of Plano has been working to improve air quality for sometime, so
it is exciting to have our efforts recognized on a regional level by such a
respected organization,” said Brian Collins, Plano’s Director of
Environmental Health.
“Our Transportation Division and Environmental Health Department have a
common goal of keeping the balance between clean air and safe roadways for
our citizens,” said City Manager Tom Muehlenbeck.
