Training Offered November 3 – 5
Plano’s nationally-recognized compost initiative is again offering
State of Texas Composter Certification, beginning Thursday, November 3
through Saturday,
November 5.
“Participants will learn how to compost food and yard waste through in-depth
instruction on backyard and worm composting,” said Special Waste Supervisor
Deb Bliss. “We provide in-depth, hands-on instruction with participants
receiving a steel Shepherd’s compost bin, a supply of worms, books, t-shirt
and lunch.”
After completion of the 14-hour program, participants receive a compost thermometer
and State of Texas Master Composter Certification. Graduates then volunteer
40 hours of service to the community providing education and support for composting
initiatives.
When: November 3 (6-9pm), November 4 (6-9pm), November 5 (9am-5pm)
Where: Parkway Service Center/Environmental Discovery Garden

Fee: $30 for certification (includes Saturday lunch)
