Master Composter Training Offered November 3 – 5

Plano’s nationally-recognized compost initiative is again offering State of Texas Composter Certification, beginning Thursday, November 3 through Saturday, November 5.

“Participants will learn how to compost food and yard waste through in-depth instruction on backyard and worm composting,” said Special Waste Supervisor Deb Bliss. “We provide in-depth, hands-on instruction with participants receiving a steel Shepherd’s compost bin, a supply of worms, books, t-shirt and lunch.”

After completion of the 14-hour program, participants receive a compost thermometer and State of Texas Master Composter Certification. Graduates then volunteer 40 hours of service to the community providing education and support for composting initiatives.
